2012 VENUS IN HELL REDUX
I started making these photographs because so many parts of my life –
even the simplest observations or encounters – felt like secrets I kept
from myself. I used a basic, always available tool: the camera of an
iPhone 3, enhanced with a two-dollar app. I kept the process simple
and rigorously forensic. I shot it like a movie, albeit with little notion of
a plot. The result was art of the rawest kind – but revelatory.
